Hungarian House in Los Angeles
As with most typefaces, life for Colette began in a sketchbook. These thumbnail drawings were only intended to foster ideas and give a sense how the typeface could translate digitally. After sometime had passed from releasing the original Colette, the sketches were revisited. With a degree of separation, the thumbnails had their own appeal. They gave a sense of the essence of Colette, but with their unrefinement stepped into their own charm. Further development seemed encouraging and with applying some contemporary features found in Open Type, Saltine was realized.
